The Los Angeles teenager who invited supermodel Kate Upton to his prom in a YouTube video that went viral this week got his answer Wednesday on national television.

Jake Davidson's funny and endearing YouTube invitation has racked up nearly 640,000 views since it was posted over the weekend.

"You had me at hello," Davidson says in the clip. "You're the ying to my yang. I'm Jewish, 5-foot-9 on a really good day, and I can't dance at all. You're Christian, 5-foot-10, and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for Best Short Film. You could say this is destiny."

Davidson does some pushups to try and impress Upton, before giving a Ferris Bueller-esque monologue in the shower.

"Kate. Can I call u Katie? OK, Kate works. Great moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what you have here today a chance to make a nice guy's senior year, the best ever. We can ride around all night long — until 11, that's my curfew. But really, it would mean the world to me if you came."
Davidson appeared on the "Today" show Wednesday and got a big surprise when Upton herself called in to speak to him.

"How do you feel? I can't believe you're on a show and everything now. It's amazing," the 20-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model said. "[The video was] so hilarious and so creative. Thank you so much for doing that. I really appreciate."

Davidson, dumbfounded, took the opportunity to make a last-minute pitch for his prom date.

"Kate, I'm telling you, it would be great night," he said. "I can even get the curfew extended hopefully."

Though Upton tweeted a brief response Tuesday, saying she would go as long as her schedule allowed it, she made it official by responding to Davidson personally on live TV.

"You seem like so much fun and if everything works out I'd love to go with you," she said. "I know we'd have a blast."
