Keshia Knight Pulliam, the former child star who played Rudy Huxtable on the 1980s "The Cosby Show," defended the show's legacy despite its creator and star, Bill Cosby, becoming embroiled in sexual assault allegations.

Pulliam, who was talking with The Grio in a story posted on Tuesday about her adult role in the movie "Will to Love," turned her attention to her time on "The Cosby Show" and how people viewed the show then.

"I can say that, based upon the people that continuously approach me and talk about how it's profoundly impacted their lives, I don't feel you can take that back," said Pulliam.

"You can't take back the impact that it's had on generations of kids, and it's continuing to have such a positive impact on them. So I feel like the place that it has in people's hearts is such a nostalgic part of childhood and beyond, it's going to be difficult to take back those memories."

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Pulliam was just the latest member of the "The Cosby Show" to comment on the scandal that has engulfed Bill Cosby's signature television series and career.

Phylicia Rashard, who played Cosby's TV wife Clair Huxtable, has defended her former boss in the past while Joseph C. Phillips, who played Martin Kendall on the show, wrote a blog post saying it appeared the comedian is guilty of the claims.

Pulliam added in The Grio interview that comments she made in January about the allegations against Cosby not matching the person she came to know still hold even with the more women coming forward.

"My comment doesn't really change, because, still, regardless of how many… that's just not the man I know," said Pulliam. "That's not who I experienced. I never had that interaction with him, so I can't speak to it."

The latest allegation against Cosby has come from Chloe Goins, who filed a federal civil lawsuit this week charging that the comedian drugged and sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion when she was a teenager, said Newsweek.
