Actor Kevin Spacey interrupted his one-man "Clarence Darrow" show during a London performance recently to snap at an audience member who let a cell phone ring.
After the phone started ringing and the person failed to answer it, Spacey called out, “If you don't answer that, I will!"
while staying in character, The Independent reported. The audience clapped after his response.

Spacey began playing the famous civil rights lawyer as far back as 1991 when he starred in a PBS’ "Darrow."
He’s currently performing at London’s Old Vic Theatre through June 15, and getting excellent reviews for his performances.
“Spacey's Darrow is a rumpled, lumpen figure — easy to believe that, as he attests, he sleeps in his clothes — somehow at once unwieldy and elegant, circling his in-the-round stage and, occasionally, roaming into the aisles as if in some kind of elephantine ballet,”
the Chicago Tribune wrote of his London Old performance.
Spacey has been artistic director at the Old Vic since 2003 but will be leaving that position in 2015.
The Oscar-winning actor
answered questions from Guardian readers, including one about “difficulties” preparing for roles.
“If there is one things I object to it’s actors talking about how tough their jobs are,” Spacey answered. “My job is a joy and I feel a little bit like Clarence Darrow who said ‘When I was nine years old, my father put me to work hoeing potatoes. Then I went into law and I’ve not done a day’s work since.’ If I hear one more actor saying ‘I had to prepare physically for the role’ I want to hit them.”
