The “infomercial king” Kevin Trudeau has been sent to jail for his over-the-top spending, owing more than $37 million in fines.
The infomercial king, who violated court orders to stop his spending, claims he has no money to pay the fine, which stems from alleged false claims about his weight-loss book, according to The Associated Press.

Lawyers for the Federal Trade Commission presented evidence Wednesday in federal Chicago court that the Kevin Trudeau has spent $900 at a liquor store, $920 on cigars and $359 on two haircuts.
Judge Robert Gettleman told the infomercial man to discuss his assets with a court-appointed receiver while in jail and return to court Thursday.
Gettleman told Kevin Trudeau: “This is not an infomercial. You can’t talk your way out of this.”
In July, Gettleman froze assets the infomercial pitchman allegedly controls and held Kevin Trudeau in contempt of court.
Kevin Trudeau has reportedly used top-dollar attorneys. He allegedly drives a $340,000 Bentley and employs two personal chefs and a butler at his suburban Chicago home.
