Kourtney Kardashian wants to bring her children up with strong faith but is wary of pushing her own beliefs upon them. That is why she turned to her pastors Chad and Julia Veach for advice.
In a video posted to her website Poosh, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star chats with the pastors of Zoe Church in Los Angeles about teaching her children about faith without being overbearing about it.
"We grew up always hearing Bible stories, my dad already read us Bible stories and we would talk about it in the car, we would listen to Bible songs, we went to Sunday school, not every Sunday but a lot," Kardashian said, Fox News reports.
"So I just wonder if there's something you guys do, or that's really important to you, like routines or things that you do with your own family that could be helpful."
The pastors said that the "everyday moments" provided the best teaching opportunities.
"I think that with a lot of things like culture and our faith, it's more caught than it is taught," Julia said.
Kardashian shared how she had already included a mix of worship songs in her playlist, which she listened to in the car for her children in the mornings. Chad said it was these small, everyday rituals that left lasting impressions on children.
"All of that stuff ... it stays in you," he stated, according to The Christian Post. "The same for us. We grew up with Christian parents that did some of the same things. I think with our kids we are just trying to, even on the drive to school every morning as I'm getting ready to drop off my son, I'm like, 'Alright, I'm going to pray over you and remember, you're a leader in your school and people follow you and I'm going to pray that you are a light on your campus.'"
He added that just having the desire to teach her children faith would make an impact on Kardashian’s family.
"You invest in kids so much and just the fact that you want to teach them faith, they'll learn faith," he said, according to Fox News. "If you have great parents that love you and teach you faith, you're set up for success!"
