Lara Trump kicked of a "real news" video blog earlier this week hosted on President Donald Trump's Facebook page.

Lara Trump, who is married to the president's son Eric Trump, anchored the blog and mentioned positive stories about her father-in-law, including him donating his salary to the education department, the stock market reaching new highs, and a new Wisconsin plant possibly creating 13,000 jobs, USA Today reported.

"I bet you haven't heard about all of the accomplishments the president had this week because there's so much fake news out there," Lara Trump said on the video. "We wanted to give you a glimpse into his week."

Posted on Sunday, the video has been viewed more than 2.2 million times on the website.

Lara Trump announced the effort in a video on July 20, promising that the "real news" videos will be done weekly touting what the president has done.

The Hill pointed out that Lara Trump's video ignored many trending news topics last week, including the president's announcement on Twitter that transgender people would not be allowed to service in the military and the Senate's failure to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

Trump said on Twitter Tuesday said social media was the only way he can get his message out and is the reason why mainstream media outlets want him to stop.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Only the Fake News Media and Trump enemies want me to stop using Social Media (110 million people). Only way for me to get the truth out!</p>&mdash; Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href="https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/892383242535481344">August 1, 2017</a></blockquote>

Lara Trump has plenty of experience with the news, working as story coordinator and then associate producer at the syndicated television program "Inside Edition," according to Town & Country magazine.

Lara and Eric Trump were married in 2014, the magazine said.
