Six things are known about Stephen Paddock, the gunman suspected of killing at least 58 people and injuring more than 500 others after opening fire on a crowd at a Las Vegas country music festival. Police said he killed himself on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino before they broke into the room.

2. Paddock was seen with a woman in a car – Paddock had been traveling with an Asian woman believed to be a person of interest in investigations, CNBC noted. Police initially announced that the 62-year-old woman, identified as Marilou Danley, was wanted for questioning, believing her to be Paddock’s "companion." However, according to later reports by ABC News, she is not thought to have been involved in the shooting.
3. Police did not know of the suspect – It was initially reported that Paddock was known to local law enforcement, but police later said they had no record of interactions with the suspect, minus one citation from years ago.
4. Terrorism link – Those who knew him say Paddock had no known connection to terrorism, but the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the mass shooting, saying that the perpetrator was "a soldier" who had converted to Islam months ago. Officials, however, said at a press conference Monday that there is no known connection to ISIS or international terrorism.
5. Attacker believed to have acted alone – Paddock is believed to have been the sole shooter, though it's not yet clear whether he had support or ties to any international terrorist groups.
6. Numerous firearms were found in Paddock's hotel room – It’s believed that Paddock had checked into the hotel as a guest. NBC reported that multiple firearms had been recovered from his hotel room upon police investigations.
