Leah Remini said her co-star Kevin James was coveted as a Church of Scientology recruit, but the former "The Kings of Queens" actress said she never really thought about flipping him into the religion, despite constant nagging, People magazine reported on Wednesday.

The recruitment of James, 52, was just the latest charge the actress and former Scientology member has leveled against the church, People noted.

"They always tried to get me to, (asking) 'Why is he not in? Why have you not promoted it to him?'" Remini, 47, told People. "I was like, 'Because he’s Catholic. He doesn't want anything to do with it.' They let it go after a while, but usually you'd be expected to recruit, especially with somebody you work with for nine years."

The comments continued a long-running feud between Remini and the church after she left in 2013, People said.

Remini and her family were Scientologists for more than 30 years before she left and she told People the church now wants to silence her.

The church has pushed back, saying such an allegation was absent in her 2015 tell-all book "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology."

"Leah Remini never made this claim in her book so now fabricates it to garner more tabloid press," a representative for Church of Scientology told Fox News on Wednesday. "The only thing we know about Kevin James is what Remini repeatedly told the Church — that he was a bully. We counseled her to be more open and communicate with him so they could get along better."

Remini's docu-series "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" picked up an Emmy Awards nomination in July for best informational series or special, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

The actress will be reuniting with James on the show "Kevin Can Wait," airing Sept. 25, People noted.

The church has a website dedicated to attacking Remini's allegations called LeahReminiAftermath.com.

"Leah Remini’s slanderous fabrications about the Church of Scientology, in an effort to drum up publicity for her made-up 'docuseries,' are despicable," per the website. "Her reality show 'Aftermath' is really 'Leah Remini: After Money.' It is nothing more than a scripted, rehearsed, acted, and dramatized work of fiction."
