A truck driver making a delivery to Levi Stadium, the new San Francisco 49ers arena, died Monday in accident that marks the second worker fatality at the site in less than six months.
Work restarted Tuesday on the $1.2 billion accelerated construction project after police determined that the driver's death was an accident. He was reportedly
crushed early Monday by a bundle of rebar being unloaded from his truck, according to The Associated Press.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Edward Erving Lake II, 60, of Vacaville, Calif., the AP reported. Lake reportedly worked for Gerdau Ameristeel's Napa Reinforcing Steel facility, a subcontractor working on the new Levi Stadium.
Lake's death comes just days after California workplace safety officials ruled that the contractors overseeing the project
would not face fines for a worker's death back in June, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
In that case, a
mechanic died in an elevator shaft after being hit with a counterweight.
"We are not going to cite them for that," Peter Melton, a spokesman for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, told the Chronicle on Monday. "It appears the deceased knew the elevator was in motion — he was an experienced mechanic — and for whatever reason he stayed where he was."
Levi Stadium is expected to open in time to host the 50th Super Bowl in 2016.
