Rush: Democrats Baiting GOP With Obama Jobs Bill

By    |   Tuesday, 27 September 2011 01:28 PM EDT ET

Senate Democrats are not serious about passing President Barack Obama’s American Jobs Act and are just using the proposed legislation as a tool to demagogue the Republicans, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio program Tuesday.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s intention to hold off on the jobs bill and instead bring to the floor legislation dealing with whether China manipulates its currency proves that point, Limbaugh said.

“That is a meaningless gesture,” he said. “They don’t want to take up the jobs bill. ‘Dingy Harry’ doesn’t want any part of this. This is all for show — they don’t ever want this thing coming up for a vote.”

Obama is in California touting the $447 billion jobs bill.

“This bill . . . it is not a jobs bill,” Limbaugh said. “Obama has never submitted a jobs bill.”

A tax bill would better describe the proposed legislation, he said.

“It is designed to exist in principle only. It exists so that the lack of action on it can be blamed on the Republicans,” Limbaugh said. “It’s an optic — it’s a talking point.”

Limbaugh also noted a comment by Obama strategist David Axelrod to a gathering of Democratic politicians in New Hampshire Tuesday that the president faces a “titanic struggle” for re-election.

“We need to make sure the GOP puts up the right iceberg,” Limbaugh said.
