Lindsey Vonn's dreams of gold at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics may be in jeopardy after the four-time world champion ski racer crashed and was injured Tuesday while training in Colorado.

It's not yet clear whether Vonn, 29, retweaked the surgically repaired right knee she severely injured back in February, but U.S. Ski Team representatives and a spokesman for the skier maintain that Tuesday's crash was not that serious.

"We have no reason to believe it's anything significant right now," U.S. Ski Team spokesman Tom Kelly told The Associated Press in a telephone interview, adding that Vonn was not admitted to a hospital but that she'd been seen by a doctor at her home.

Vonn was reportedly taken by sled from the slopes in Copper Mountain, Colo., around 10 a.m. Tuesday. According to USA Today, a 16-year-old girl who was visiting the facility snapped a photo of Vonn as she was making her way off the mountain.

Vonn, the reigning Winter Olympics champion in the downhill, was planning on competing for the first time since her knee injury later this month and is also set to appear in two World Cup downhill races in December.

The Sochi Olympics kick off Feb. 7 in Russia.

"I would love to win as many World Cups as possible but my main focus is definitely on the Olympics," she told USA Today before the season. "If I start off slow, it's fine I just want to make sure that by the time I get to Sochi that I'm 100 percent in those events."
