Linsey Godfrey, a soap opera star who plays Caroline Spencer on the hit CBS drama "The Bold and the Beautiful," is recovering after a car struck her in West Los Angeles Monday afternoon, breaking both her legs.

The Los Angeles Police Department told KCBS-TV that the 26-year-old actress was walking near the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Granville Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle that drove onto the sidewalk.

Authorities said that the car hit another vehicle and then struck Godfrey and a bus bench.

"Cops tell us Godfrey was struck around 2:30 p.m. and got pinned underneath the car," TMZ reported. "When emergency responders arrived, a citizen had already moved her from the wreckage . . . and she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance."

Fellow soap star Scott Clifton, who appears on "The Bold and the Beautiful" with Godfrey, posted an update on his friend's status on Twitter Tuesday.

Godfrey is the mother of a 7-month-old daughter with fiancé Robert Adamson, an actor on the soap "The Young and the Restless," according to Us Weekly.

Many fans and supporters sent notes of well wishes on social media.
