An Ohio man called 911 Wednesday to report that his wife had stolen his cocaine in a short phone call that led to his arrest.
In a partial
recording of the 911 call, posted by Fox News 8, it appears that Robert Collins, of Alliance, Ohio, may not have actually intended to call 911. He starts off by telling the dispatcher, “Me and my wife had a misunderstanding about something I bought. I bought some cocaine earlier and she wanted to take my cocaine, and then she (unintelligible).”
Fox reported that sections of the phone call on its website deleted a “long, profanity-laced rant” that Collins then went on, apparently directed at his wife.
It got real when the dispatcher asked for his name, and he said, “Robert Collins. Who’s this?”
“The police department. You called 911.”
“No.”
When police arrived to question Collins, they found that he had an outstanding municipal court warrant, and he was also in
possession of a marijuana pipe, the Alliance Review said.
Collins, 39, was arrested for failing to pay costs on a previous speeding and driving under suspension case and failing to complete community service requirements, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misuse of 911, the Review said.
The social media community was relentless in espousing their views on Collins’ call:
