New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and wife Abby McGrew have announced a June date for the birth of their second child, the New York Daily News reported.

If the Giants keep wide receiver Victor Cruz, one of Manning's favorite targets, it would make a nice shower gift.

"She's due in June," Manning said during an interview with US Weekly, "we're all very excited." The couple already has a daughter, Ava Francis, who turns 2 this week.

Although baby news undoubtedly takes precedence, Manning is also paying close attention to what’s happening with Cruz. Contract negotiations between him and the Giants have been strained and Manning is concerned about the deal. "It is nerve-wracking,” he said.

"I am definitely keeping up with (his situation)," Manning said. "I am hoping each day, that when I open the newspaper it doesn't say that he has signed with another team. I am hoping he stays with the Giants and we can continue our success."

The sticking point appears to be the difference between what Cruz wants and what the Giants can off under the current salary cap.

The Giants haven't asked Manning to restructure his contract, which runs through 2015 and counts $21 million against the salary cap in 2013, but he's willing to do so if it helps the team keep Cruz, according to a report on the NFL's website.

"If the Giants want to work something out," Manning told The Associated Press on Wednesday, "I am always up for listening, figuring out what I can do to help the cause."

“I think he likes being here,” Manning said about Cruz. “I think he fits very well in our offense. I think he realizes that in what he’s been able to do and the success. You never know. If you go to another offense, maybe it doesn't fit as well to your style."
