Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey accepted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.

McConaughey’s wife, Camila Alves, their three children, and members of the cast of the recent movie "Interstellar" attended the ceremony.

McConaughey described explaining the star to his children: “It’s there. It’ll be there for you to see and it’ll be there for your grandkids to see and your grandkids’ grandkids to see.”

“This is a great moment in my career and my life,” McConaughey said on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, explaining that he didn’t expect his first role on “Dazed and Confused” to turn into a career.

“I have a career that I look forward to Monday morning to going to work,” he said.

The day’s celebration also included lunch at Spago in Beverly Hills hosted by Paramount Chairman Brad Grey, Deadline reported.

McConaughey told Deadline that he was excited about the star and its placement.

“I got some prime real estate right in front of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. It’s very cool,” he said.

Twitter users commented about his family.
