ESPN's "SportsNation" host Michelle Beadle is going to prom with teenager Jack Jablonski, who was paralyzed from the chest down during a hockey game in 2011. All he had to do was ask.

Jablonski, cohost of Wednesday's "Hockey Night in Minnesota" on WGVX-FM in Minneapolis, asked Beadle to his prom at Benilde-St. Margaret's School in St. Louis Park, Minn., on April 26 while he appeared on the show. Beadle happily accepted.

"I know that he's a badass and someone I look up to immensely," Beadle said to Larry Brown afterward. "I was shocked when he asked today. And I adore him for doing it live on the radio. I'm honored to squeeze my 38-year-old behind into a formal gown for a great night!"

Beadle apparently had only requirement for the date — a cactus corsage.

Jablonski's "Hockey Night in Minnesota" co-host Bob Sansevere said he does not think his young cohort will have a problem with the request.

Jablonski's accident, which happened when he was checked into the boards during a game in 2011, made national headlines. National Hockey League Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky and others stars called him and his family to offer well-wishes.

Beadle rejoined ESPN on March 3 and is the current guest host of "SportsNation," a show she co-hosted with Colin Cowherd in 2009. She worked for NBC Sports, where she co-hosted the short-lived "The Crossover: With Beadle and Briggs," before returning to ESPN.
