The pet rabbit of Vice President Mike Pence and his family made its first White House appearance Tuesday at an event honoring the military and their families.
The BOTUS — Bunny of the United States — Marlon Bundo flew on Air Force Two and greeted children of military families from the arms of Karen Pence, according to USA Today. The event was in honor of National Military Appreciation Month and National Military Spouse Appreciation Day.
Karen Pence told the audience her daughter got the black and white bunny during college to star in a film she made for a class, and that he was named after a famous actor Marlon Brando.
“Marlon came today really just to say ‘hi’ to you and to say thank you to all the children,” Karen Pence said, USA Today reported. She asked the children not to clap for the bunny because he might get scared.
The rabbit has an Instagram page with more than 7,000 followers, which chronicled his move with the family into the Naval Observatory when the Pences took office.
The children colored pictures of bunnies and American flags at the event before getting to meet the rabbit in person, CNN reported.
Twitter said the bunny was a great addition to the event.
