Ladies, eat your hearts out. While you’re schlumping around in department store clothes (or worse), Minnie Mouse is strutting her stuff in Lanvin.
The high fashion house of design, headed by Alber Elbaz, has assisted Minnie in her makeover, dumping the seriously outdated red and white polka dot frock for a more elegant – and slimming – royal blue with jeweled appliqués dress. Gone too, the giant bow, replaced by a sparkly red tiara.
Everyone is not a fan and some snidely refer to the couture dress as aging.

"It's definitely more mature. It looks a bit mother of the bride," Matthew Gallagher told the Christian Science Monitor. "I preferred the polka dots.”
Minnie made her debut in her new duds on the catwalk at – where else? – Disney Paris on Saturday.
Traditionalists such as Gallagher need not despair, however. Minnie’s new outfit is a special occasions dress only. For her everyday starlet chores, she will remain in her polka dots, bloomers, and bows.
Minnie, the iconic Disney mouse partnered with Mickey, was first imagined by Walt Disney, and drawn by Ub Iwerks in 1928. She made her debut in the animated short "Plane Crazy" in 1928, in which she parachuted out of a plane rather than kiss Mickey.
