Country singer Miranda Lambert, just a week after news broke that she and Blake Shelton were getting a divorce, took the stage in Nashville on Tuesday, where she admitted she'd "been living on caffeine and sad songs lately."
The Tennessean reported that the award-winning country singer joined writers Natalie Hemby and Jessi Alexander onstage at Nashville's iconic 3rd & Lindsley Bar and Grill with singers Clare Dunn, RaeLynn, and Courtney Cole for the acoustic event.
"Lambert's hastily announced acoustic show — a fundraiser for the scholarship program she's establishing at Belmont for women seeking music-industry jobs — sold out in three minutes last week,"
wrote the Nashville Scene.
"Lambert was her mama's model of poise and generosity throughout a two-hour-plus, 24-song guitar pull that served as an appetizer for her girl-powered 'Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars' tour this fall," the Nashville Scene continued.
While Lambert and Shelton are breaking up, they appear to both agree on supporting their best friend, singer Ashley Monroe. The divorcing couple posted Twitter messages to each other about Monroe's album last week, catching some fans by surprise, including Monroe,
noted Us Weekly.
"When I saw the tweets I was like, 'Oh my gosh,'" Monroe told Us Weekly on Tuesday while promoting her new album "The Blade."
"Then I was thinking, 'This puts me in the middle and I don't know what's happening. But it took a not-so-fun situation and put the attention on me! I loved it," Monroe continued. "Blake is one of my best friends and so is she. So they both love me so much."
Also this week, Pottawatomie County Associate District Judge John Gardner explained why he sealed the couple's divorce documents, an order he originally made July 6,
according to The Oklahoman.
"If the pleadings in this case were made public, it would significantly compromise the personal and financial privacy of the parties," Gardner said in defending his ruling.
