The first full-length trailer for “The Hunger Games – Mockingjay: Part 1” was released Monday, ramping up fan excitement for the next installment in the popular series.
This new look at the movie, which opens in November, brings Panem’s war into the spotlight, and shows Katniss’ determination to save Peeta, who has become the mouthpiece of President Snow.

“You will rescue Peeta at the earliest opportunity, or you will find another Mockingjay,” Katniss, played by Jennifer Lawrence, states emphatically in the trailer.
The trailer began gathering views as soon as it was posted, hitting almost 300,000 views on YouTube within three hours of going up.
As Wired put it, "Holy crap there’s a lot going on in the new 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay' trailer."
"Yes, this tease gives us a much more empowered Katniss than the first. She’s no longer just the overwhelmed figurehead tepidly telling a room full of battle-wounded folks she’s down for the struggle," Wired wrote of the new trailer. "Nope. She’s shooting down Capitol airships and making demands of President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore)."
Fans were excited to get insight into the upcoming movie, and now they’re counting the days until November.
The intensity of the trailer, with numerous shots of wartorn Panem and a stoic, determined Katniss, evoked strong emotions in many viewers.
“The tears have already started,” one person wrote on the show’s Facebook page, which has more than 20 million followers.
The first movie of the series, “The Hunger Games,” made more than $684 million in worldwide box office sales and pulled in another $208 million on DVD sales. The second movie, “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” broke box office records.
