Country music star Morgan Wallen is facing backlash for going maskless at a crowded party ahead of his "Saturday Night Live" appearance. The singer was busted in a video shared on Monday to TikTok showing him downing shots in a bar where dozens of other patrons were not wearing masks or obeying social distancing. Wallen, who recently became a father, was also caught kissing a woman believed not to be the mother of his baby.
TikTok users were quick to slam the musician.
"Wait, did the pandemic end," one person commented.
"Breaking news: Morgan wallen now has COVID and 30 new baby mommas," another wrote.
"He's gonna get the rona," a third added.
"SNL" opened its 46th season, returning to the studio over the weekend after the coronavirus pandemic halted production, and cast and crew appeared to be following social distancing guidelines. The NBC late-night sketch series saw Alec Baldwin playing President Donald Trump and Jim Carey as Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden in a reenactment of the recent debate between Trump and Biden.
Maya Rudolph made a cameo appearance as Sen. Kamala Harris. The show was hosted by Chris Rock, who stepped on stage with a mask before snatching it off to perform his monologue. He opened in front of a live audience, which included about two dozen first responders who all wore masks.
