New York Times' Guacamole Recipe With Peas Isn't Flying With Obama

A recent New York Times recipe, which suggested adding peas to guacamole to put a healthy spin on the dip, has drawn the ire of the Internet, and even President Barack Obama.

“Trust us,” The Times asked of its followers on Twitter:



But the leader of the free world and husband of the first lady trying to promote healthier lifestyle choices wasn't buying it.

Justin Green, Independent Journal Review political editor, tweeted #AskPOTUS on Wednesday: “ Do you agree with the @nytimes about putting peas in guacamole? If yes, why?" reported Fox News.

Hours later, the president replied:



Obama and Jeb Bush seem to have finally found some common ground, as the GOP presidential hopeful also tweeted his opposition to pea guacamole:



The green pea guacamole recipe appears to be increasingly unpopular among Twitter users, many of whom have concocted other quirky combinations to poke fun at #NYTrecipes:
