Authorities continued Wednesday with their investigation into a North Attleborough, Mass., murder with a planned search of a rental car registered to New England Patriots' star tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is implicated in the murder, ABC's Good Morning America reported.

The search of the vehicle was planned after police spent hours at Hernandez's home in North Attleborough Tuesday night, taking evidence photos and removing boxes.

The car parked in Hernandez's driveway, a 2012 Chrysler 200 LX, is now being searched, as the license plate connected the car to another rental, several law enforcement sources said. Hernandez was reportedly cooperative with police Tuesday night.

The Sun Chronicle reported state and local police have investigated the death of a 27-year-old Boston man and are following up on leads. Authorities have not publicly identified the man as of Wednesday.

A jogger found the victim’s body around 5:30 p.m. Monday off John Dietsch Boulevard in the town’s industrial park. It may have been there for longer than a day and was found less than a mile from Hernandez's home.

Authorities were trying to determine if the victim died at the location or if his body had been dumped there, according to sources.

Hernandez purchased the $1.3 million home in November 2012 from former New England Patriots player Ty Warren.

The last murder in North Attleborough was in 2009, when the body of a suspected drug dealer who entered the country from Mexico was found at a housing development that was under construction. No arrests have been made in connection since, The Sun Chronicle reported.

Hernandez started 10 games for the Patriots last season but was hindered by injuries. He has spent the offseason recovering from shoulder surgery.

A Bristol, Conn., native, he played college football at the University of Florida.

Stacey James, a New England Patriots official, commented on the investigation.

"I am aware of the reports, but I do not anticipate that we will be commenting publicly during an ongoing police investigation," James said.
