A Seattle-area Nike store was trashed by shoppers on Black Friday, leaving workers a huge mess to clean up after the rush.
The Nike factory store at Seattle Premium Outlets was packed with shoppers trying to score Black Friday deals, and the result was a store littered with boxes and shoes on the floor and partially empty shelves.
"I thought there was an earthquake that happened," Nike customer Larry Downer told BuzzFeed News. He took his son there for a pair of basketball shoes. "It was unreal. We start walking through from aisle to aisle, and you're walking over orange boxes everywhere. People were just kicking stuff out of the way."
Downer said the store's staff appeared to be "overwhelmed" by the chaos of the day. One Instagram user described the store's condition as the "zombie apocalypse."
Photos of the store quickly spread on social media.
BuzzFeed News reported a store worker who wished to remain anonymous said an estimated 20,000 people passed through the store between 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday.
