In just under three months prominent figures from across the U.S. will gather in Washington, D.C., for the prestigious Susan B. Anthony List's 12th annual Campaign for Life Gala, which will be led by keynote speaker Nikki Haley.
The pro-life group made the announcement this week.
"We are so thankful for the strong #ProLife leadership of our longtime friend, @NikkiHaley," the organization tweeted.
As former U.N. Ambassador and governor of South Carolina, Hayley has been instrumental in driving the human rights of unborn children and their mothers. Her strong pro-life stance has gained massive support and on June 3, she will take to the stage to address attendees at the gala, which has seen President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence as previous guest speakers.
"We are proud to honor our longtime friend, Nikki Haley, for her strong pro-life leadership," SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement.
The organization comprises a network of more than 700,000 pro-life Americans nationwide who have dedicated their time to campaign against abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for supporting laws. The organization has strong focus on promoting pro-life women leaders.
"During her time as governor, Nikki signed landmark legislation to end brutal late-term abortions in South Carolina," Dannenfelser continued. "President Trump then made a very wise decision in selecting her to serve as ambassador to the United Nations. In this role she was a fierce defender of unborn children and their mothers and of American interests in protecting the vulnerable. She stood up to the international abortion lobby and played a key role in advancing the Trump administration’s pro-life priorities, resulting in historic gains for life on a global scale."
Haley applauded the organization's work.
"At the United Nations, America is often in the minority when we stand up for our values, but we proudly stand strong for them anyway, because it's the right thing to do," she said. "At home, the Susan B. Anthony List reminds us of the importance of staying true to our values, and no value is more sacred than the right to life."
