OkCupid wants its members to boycott Firefox after the browser's parent company appointed a new CEO who once made contributions to an anti-gay cause.
Users trying to access the dating site on Mozilla's Firefox browser this week were instead met with a lengthy message.

"Those who seek to deny love and instead enforce misery, shame, and frustration are our enemies, and we wish them nothing but failure," the message reads.
Mozilla promoted its chief technology officer, Brendan Eich, to CEO last week, sparking outrage from various companies who run websites and apps on Firefox.
According to CNN, Eich donated $1,000 in 2008 to support California's Prop 8, which aimed to ban same-sex marriage in the state.
Eich responded to all the backlash with a blog post last week on his website.
"I know there are concerns about my commitment to fostering equality and
welcome for LGBT individuals at Mozilla. I hope to lay those concerns to rest, first by making a set of commitments to you," he wrote. "More important, I want to lay them to rest by actions and results. I am committed to ensuring that Mozilla is, and will remain, a place that includes and supports everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, economic status, or religion."
The OkCupid message doesn’t block Firefox access to the dating site completely. There's a link at the bottom to proceed if a user chooses to.
