Former child stars turned fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen said that their time on the TV series "Full House" cemented their knowledge about the industry, despite their young age.
The twins, 27, who grew up on TV as precocious kiddie Michelle Tanner in the "Full House" series that ran from 1987 to 1995, told
online fashion magazine Net-A-Porter that the show was a regular lesson in what to wear.
"On 'Full House,' we'd be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits," Ashley Olsen told Net-A-Porter.

The twins said their clothes on the show were made up from adult pieces, including Chanel and Marc Jacobs, cut to fit.
"We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite," Mary-Kate told the magazine. "So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession."
Others are taking notice of the Olsen's designs. In June 2012, the Twins were honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America as 2012 Womenswear Designers of the Year for their The Row fashion line,
reported E! News.
The idea for The Row, the Olsens told Net-A-Porter, was born out of the hunt for the perfect T-shirt in 2006, with both searching for great fabric and fit.
"We saw a space in the market," Ashley Olsen told the online magazine. "We knew there wasn’t another brand offering basics in a luxurious and contemporary way. . . . If you are wearing a Chanel jacket and you need an anonymous piece that will show just how special that jacket is, I hope that is what The Row gives you."
The Olsens told Net-A-Porter they now want to use their years of experience to assist other budding designers trying to break into the industry.
"I sit on a couple of boards, and (whether it is a) jewelry or furniture designer, we figure out who they need to talk to," said Ashley Olsen.
"It’s nothing for us to pick up the phone, but it means a lot to do it," Mary-Kate Olsen added.

The twins said they are focused on building their luxury brand and really have not considered other brand who may want to use their star power.
