A new poll shows Oprah Winfrey leading Democrat senators Elizabeth Warren and Kirsten Gillibrand as a 2020 presidential primary candidate.

According to Politico, a Politico/Morning Consult poll found Winfrey has a four-point edge over Warren, with 39 percent of Democrats preferring Winfrey and 35 percent choosing Warren.

Winfrey’s lead over Gillibrand was even bigger, with 44 percent preferring the media mogul and only 23 percent choosing Gillibrand.

Winfrey did not fare as well against other potential candidates. Fifty-one percent of poll participants said they would vote for former Vice President Joe Biden over 31 percent for Winfrey, and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders got 46 percent of the vote to Winfrey’s 37 percent.

In a poll of all voters, Winfrey held a 2 percent edge over President Donald Trump, 40 to 38 percent, but most voters, even Democrats, across several polls did not favor a Winfrey candidacy in 2020, Politico reported.

A Marist College poll last week gave Winfrey a much wider lead against Trump among registered voters, with 50 percent preferring Winfrey and only 39 percent backing Trump, Politico reported.

Fifty-four percent of voters had a favorable opinion of Winfrey personally, including three-quarters of Democrats, Politico reported.

“Oprah’s strong standing among Democrats does not translate to a clear interest in her launching a presidential campaign,” co-founder and chief research officer of Morning Consult Kyle Dropp said, Politico reported.

The same poll saw Trump’s approval rating go up one point this week to 45 percent, with 50 percent disapproving of his job performance. These numbers are the best for Trump since November, Politico reported.

Twitter generally reflected the poll results, with many agreeing Oprah should not run for president in 2020.
