Paige Spiranac, the gorgeous golfer taking the Internet by storm, has wowed the world with her skyrocketing social media success this summer only a few months after her graduation from San Diego State University.
Spiranac, 22, recently won the Colorado State Match Play title as she shot a 68 in one round that proved to be the best round of the
match’s entire week, according to Yahoo. While at San Diego State University, Spiranac also proved to be a key member of the school’s golf team when it won the Mountain West Conference Golf Championship.
But her golf stats and professional recognitions are not the driving factors behind her rapid takeover of social media.
Spiranac’s key to success is her Instagram account.
Although her recently-created account, which describes her as a fitness addict on the road to the LPGA Tour, does show her making some putts and drives, it also shows pictures of her golfing in revealing, skin-tight outfits that have drawn the attention of Internet browsers across the globe to her figure as well as her form. In addition, although Spiranac just created her Twitter account on Sunday, she has already garnered more than 6,000 followers. Her Instagram boasts 85,000 followers.
Spiranac first caught the United States’ eyes when her
college team’s trick shots video went viral, according to a News Corp
Australian Papers article published on Fox News.
Prior to her gold fame, Spiranac was also an elite junior gymnast, though she gave up the sport to focus on golf, instead.
“I was an elite gymnast, but I didn’t love it. I did it because I was good. But when you spend 36 hours a week in a gym, you’d better love it. I absolutely love golf. It totally beats doing back handsprings on a four-inch [balance] beam and defying death,”
Spiranac told The Gazette newspaper in Colorado.
Although many doubt her devotion to her sport because of her apparent social media prowess, Spiranac’s most recent tweet reiterated her goals:
