Paula Deen Rebuts Michelle Obama Feud Rumors

Food Network star Paula Deen has issued a denial that has nothing to do with her famous recipes.

Best known for her cable food show, Deen has been the focal point of recent news reports involving Michelle Obama in which Deen and the first lady had been engaged in an alleged food feud.

In 2008 Mrs. Obama appeared on "Paula's Party," Deen's television show, and together the two cooked up some fried shrimp and French fries.

Just this month the Emmy Award-winning TV personality released a new book, "Paula Deen's Southern Cooking Bible." Michelle Obama’s "American Grown," a proposed primer for healthy eating, is set to come out in April of 2012.

The National Enquirer reported that Mrs. Obama was unhappy with the claim in Deen’s book that the first lady harbors a secret fondness for deep-fried Snickers, French fries, and chicken wings.

Deen was quoted by the Washington Examiner as having said Mrs. Obama “probably ate more than any other guest I ever had on the show! She kept eating even during commercials. Know what [the Obamas’] favorite foods are? Hot wings.”

The first lady reportedly regretted having done the guest spot on Deen's show.

“Michelle’s spitting mad,” a source told the Enquirer. “She thinks Paula is trying to smear her and her family just as the 2012 presidential election race swings into gear.”

However, Deen is now denying that there is any bad blood between the two of them.

"There's no truth in the story that Mrs. Obama called me to stop talking about her appearance on my program," Deen told the New York Post.

The TV chef added a comment on the first lady’s famed biceps, saying “it was easy to see by her buff arms she follows a healthy lifestyle, but it didn't stop her from enjoying the food. Everything in moderation!”
