As many as 20 students were injured, some seriously, on Wednesday morning when a male student went on a stabbing spree at Franklin Regional High School in Pennsylvania.
The 16-year-old suspect, who is now in police custody, reportedly went on a rampage with a knife around 7:20 a.m. at the high school in Murrysville, Pa.,
about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh, The Associated Press reported.
Westmoreland County emergency management spokesman Dan Stevens told reporters that four students were reportedly seriously injured in the attack and many others were injured, though not stabbed. Stevens said some of them suffered scrapes and cuts as they tried to run away from the suspect.
ABC News tweeted that Franklin Regional High's assistant principal tackled the suspect, who was reportedly wielding two knives.
The injured students are all reportedly between 14 and 17 years old, Stevens told the AP.
