Pizza Hut will once again offer sneakers that can order pizza, but the Pie-Tops II shoes can also pause live TV just by pressing a button.
The shoes are Bluetooth enabled and connect to a Pie Tops app, Fox Business reported. Pizza Hut partnered with "Shoe Surgeon" Dominic Chambrone to offer the sneakers just in time for the March Madness college basketball tournament when many fans spend a lot of time watching TV and eating pizza.
The sneakers come in red or wheat colors, and have the word "pizza" prominently displayed on the side. Only 50 pairs will be available through online retailer HBX, and the price was not yet available, The Verge reported. Some shoes will also be given away on social media.
When a shoe wearer wants pizza, they just press a button on the shoe and then confirm their order with the app, The Verge reported. This is the second year the pizza giant has offered the shoes, but last year’s model did not pause the TV, Fox Business reported.
There was some Twitter excitement about the shoes, but not everyone was thrilled with the development.
