A power outage left Garth Brook fans gathered at the Prudential Center in Newark temporarily in the dark, CBS News reported.
The stadium lost power just before 8 p.m. on Sunday, interrupting the performance of opening act Mitch Rossell.
While waiting for the power to be restored, fans amused themselves by singing one of Brooks' acclaimed hit singles, "Friends in Low Places," The Washington Post said.
They also shared photos of the darkened stage along with regular updates of the situation on social media.
According to CBS News, the power was back up and running by 9 p.m. and the concert went ahead.
It was reported that no other areas had been affected by the outage and that officials were conducting investigations into the cause.
The Prudential Center confirmed the incident via a Twitter post.
"At approximately 7:50 p.m. tonight, Prudential Center experienced a brief power outage. Power was quickly restored and tonight's performance is proceeding as scheduled. Prudential Center has been in close communication with its partner, PSEG, regarding tonight's brief outage."
Fans responded with criticism.
Another person noted that the sound was "very distorted."
Sunday was Brooks' final performance of a three-night series at the venue and formed part of his world tour with wife, Trisha Yearwood.
