Royal Baby: Pregnancy of Kate Middleton, Prince William Draws Cheers, Jeers Online

News that Kate Middleton and Prince William will welcome a new member into the British royal family has set the world abuzz, especially on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook. And it's not all positive response.

Buckingham Palace announced Monday that Kate is pregnant with her first child. The royal couple is “said to be delighted,” according to the BBC.
It was also announced Monday that Kate was hospitalized for a bout with morning sickness.

The baby will be third in line to succeed the throne, after father Prince William who comes after grandfather, Prince Charles.

Almost immediately after the news was announced, a Twitter profile showed up with the handle @RoyalFetus. Within minutes, it amassed hundreds of followers. Kate Middleton began trending on Twitter as well.
Elsewhere, users took exception to the news and the related bombast consuming the media.
