Prince and Dave Chappelle have teamed up on the singer's cover art for his new single, which features the comedian dressed as the "Purple Rain" star, a nod to the famous 2004 "Chappelle's Show" sketch.

Prince, 55, debuted the cover art and a snippet of his new song, "Breakfast Can Wait," on Twitter last week, just a few days after joining the social media site.

The single cover shows Chappelle, 39, in full Prince garb — frilly blouse, purple velvet blazer, eyeliner, and big hair — holding a silver platter of pancakes. It's an image pulled from one of the most famous "Chappelle's Show" skits, "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories: Prince," where the funnyman, impersonating Prince, beats Murphy in a game of basketball and then offers the losing team a plate of pancakes.

Prince captioned the photo "Game: Blouses," a direct reference to the sketch meaning that the "blouses" team had won (the skit pinned "shirts vs. blouses" rather than the traditional "shirts vs. skins").

The publicity should bode well for Chappelle, who is in the midst of a comeback after fleeing to Africa in 2005 and taking a seven-year hiatus. At the time, he said he wanted to find "a quiet place" for a while.

"Let me tell you the things I can do here which I can't at home: think, eat, sleep, laugh," Chappelle told Time magazinein 2005 in one of his last interviews before going completely off the grid. "I'm an introspective dude. I enjoy my own thoughts sometimes. And I've been doing a lot of thinking here [in Africa]."
