Princess Charlotte is not making fatherhood easy for Prince William as he confessed to some sleepless nights this week when meeting the Lionesses, soccer players on an English women’s team, at the National Football Centre.
Though “he was saying he’s obviously really enjoying being a father,” the 2-week-old royal baby is keeping him up at night, Steph Houghton,
captain of the team, told People magazine.
“[It’s] probably why his eyes are looking a little bit tired,” she continued.
In honor of the newborn, the team presented the Duke of Cambridge with an England soccer T-shirt for his daughter.
As for the baby’s older brother, 22-month-old Prince George, the rambunctious toddler is keeping his parents on their toes.
“He was saying [George] never stops moving and is always on the move and
keeping them busy,” Houghton told The Telegraph.
Lioness Jill Scott told People that hearing about the struggles of parenthood allowed the team to see the normal side of the royal family.
“He said he'd had a few sleepless nights,” she said. “The baby will be up and George is running around now isn't he? It reflects that he does a normal life away from his duty as prince.”
Twitter users praised the exchange.
Prince William met the team Wednesday as a send-off before they head to Canada next week for the World Cup, which starts June 6.
