Princess Kate "hogs the spotlight" from other royal family members and is given all the glamorous jobs, bemoans Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
According to a source quoted in Australian Woman's Day, 26-year-old Princess Beatrice has become resentful of the Duchess of Cambridge's limelight, and has even called her "a commoner" in conversations with friends.
"As far as Bea is concerned, Kate is still just a commoner," the source told the magazine. "She's always quick to remind people that, according to official protocol, she still outranks her. And yet the public seems to prefer Kate — at times even her sister Pippa has had more attention than Beatrice and Eugenie. Of course, the sisters find it infuriating."
The insider told Woman's Day that Princess Beatrice believe that Princess Kate has received the best royal assignments while she has been "relegated to cutting ribbons at country hospitals."
"Bea feels Kate is hogging all the limelight and it’s not fair," the source said.
Kate's second pregnancy announcement also irked Princess Beatrice, according to the source, who noted that the royal was reportedly planning to announce her own engagement to boyfriend Dave Clark.
But a friend close to Prince William and his wife has wholly rejected the comments.
"It's not true," a source told The Express. "Beatrice is too good-natured to say those sort of things. She admires Kate."
The royal couple announced in early September that they were expecting their second child. Their first, Prince George, turned one in July.
As with her first pregnancy, Princess Kate is again experiencing extreme morning sickness but, according to a Kensington Palace statement form earlier this month, she is "steadily improving."
