Reese Witherspoon Arrest Video Leaked: It's a Cringe-Worthy Meltdown (Video)

The arrest video of Reese Witherspoon, the Oscar-winning actress who was handcuffed for disorderly conduct while her husband was being charged with a DUI, is now public.

A dash cam captured the April 19 incident, and the "Legally Blonde" star's audible exchange with the officer is cringe-worthy. The A-list actress unleashed a series of bizarre one-liners about being American as she gave the officer a difficult time.

Toth, who was behind the wheel, was pulled over in Atlanta after he crossed a double line on the road. Appearing disheveled and smelling of alcohol, he failed a blood-alcohol breath test administered at the scene, according to the report.

While Toth quietly accepted his charges, his wife wasn't having none of it.

While he was getting his sobriety test, Witherspoon told the officer she was pregnant and had to go to the bathroom, a lie that was an attempt to evoke his sympathy.

She then told the officer what she thought were her constitutional rights.

“I’d like to know what’s going on. I’m a U.S. citizen, and I am allowed to stand on American ground and ask any question I want to ask,” she asserts, after getting out of the police car against the officer's wishes.

The officer threatens to arrest her if she doesn't stay in the car.

“You better not arrest me! Are you kidding me?! I am an American citizen,” she replied while being handcuffed. “This is BEYOND. This is beyond. This is harassment. You are harassing me as an American citizen. I have done nothing against the law.”

Witherspoon then shrieked, “I have to obey your orders?!”

Toth told his wife to relax, but she didn't stop there, pulling the "I'm a celebrity" card.

“I am now being arrested and handcuffed? Do you know my name, sir? You don’t need to know my name? Oh, really? Well, you’re about to find out who I am,” she says, continuing to mumble about being an American citizen as she is placed in the back of the cop car again.

The couple was released from custody at about 3:30 a.m. on April 19. They were scheduled to appear that following Monday, but their attorney requested a later date, Reuters reported.

Witherspoon apologized two days after her arrest, claiming the couple was driving home after dining out with her husband.

"I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said," she said, according to the Daily Mail. "It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse."

The two have been in Atlanta while she has been filming "The Big Lie."

The actress later made light of the situation on "Good Morning America."

"I played a lawyer in a movie so many times I think I am a lawyer. And, clearly, I’m not a lawyer because I got arrested," she said.

Witherspoon and Toth married in 2011 and have a son together. Witherspoon has two children from her first husband, actor Ryan Phillippe.
