While the popular actor's turned his checkered past around, Robert Downey Jr.’s 20-year-old son Indio Downey was arrested for cocaine possession Sunday.
Citing law enforcement sources,
TMZ said Indio Downey apparently was riding in a car when two police officers noted someone was smoking a pipe in the car. After pulling the vehicle over, police reportedly found cocaine in Indio Downey’s possession.

"Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. has a history of drug addiction and served time as he struggled to get it under control. He has reportedly been clean for about 10 years, and on Monday was
named by Forbes as the top "Power Actor" for 2014.
The Forbes points out out that just 10 years ago, Downey Jr.'s drug struggles made him "unreliable (and uninsurable) and most studios saw him as just too big of a risk."
The actor alluded to his own struggles in a statement to ABC News: “Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we’re all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being. We’re grateful to the Sheriff’s department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale.”
Indio Downey also told TMZ, “I'm sorry for what happened. I spent a strange time (sic) and I was not myself, thanks for your support and be close to me. i Love You."
In October, the
Daily Mail reported that Indio Downey was in treatment for a problem with pills, although his mother, Deborah Falconer, downplayed the issue at the time and said he was receiving homeopathic treatments.
