Robin Williams will have a lot of last words in his final film "Absolutely Anything," where he lends his voice to a talking dog in the science fiction comedy by Monty Python's Terry Jones.
The film has been given a U.S. release date of May 12 after being kept under wraps for the most part after his death. The film also features the voices of Monty Python members John Cleese, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin, noted E! News.
"Shortly after Williams's death, 'Absolutely Anything' was released in the U.K., grossing a little over $2 million," reported Vanity Fair writer Yohana Desta. "Critics didn't particularly warm to it, however. And though the film likely won't be a blockbuster in the U.S. either, there is a wondrous (if slightly devastating) quality to a movie that contains both a legendary comedy reunion and the final performance of the late Williams."
While Williams is not seen in the film, he has plenty to say as his character, Dennis, provided the movie commentary to the film that stars "Star Trek's" Simon Pegg, noted E! News.
The trailer for the movie with Williams, was released on Monday and has more than 45,000 views on YouTube.
Williams wrapped up his role in the movie three weeks before his death in 2014, wrote E! News. He committed suicide by asphyxia and hanging at his home in Tiburon, California, at age 63, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedian and Academy Award-winning actor reportedly had been privately battling severe depression for years, said The Hollywood Reporter. After his autopsy, Williams was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, which his widow Susan Schneider Williams said she believed was a major factor in his death, noted E! News.
Lewy Body Dementia is an umbrella term referring to both Parkinson's disease dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies, reflecting underlying biological changes in the brain with cognitive, physical, sleep, and behavioral symptoms, according to the Lewy Body Dementia Association website.
