Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney welcomed his 22nd grandchild Friday — for the second time.

Romney tweeted out a photo and welcome announcement for the newest member of his family. Kieran James Romney, who was born July 22, was officially adopted by Romney's son Benjamin and his wife Andelynne on Friday, the Daily Mail reported.

But it appears Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, can't keep up with his brood because he also welcomed his 22nd grandchild back in July, a baby boy born to son Joshua and his wife Jen.

With a little digging and investigation into the Romney family's past Twitter activity, Politico found that Kiernan James is, in all probability, the "real" 22nd grandchild.

Case in point: A 2012 Christmas card shows 18 grandchildren.

Then, in February, Ann Romney tweeted about the birth of son Craig's twins.

Joshua Romney's son born in July was number 21 and now the Romneys have welcomed Kiernan James to bring the total count to 22 grandchildren.
