Ronda Rousey may pursue a career in pro wrestling, according to observers speculating on what the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter’s next step would be.

Rousey walked away from the ring in December and has been dabbling in various other projects ever since, MMA Mania noted.

However, the cage fighting star recently updated her website’s homepage with a video montage and a bold heading announcing "major news and exclusive content coming soon."

Since then fans and critics have been left guessing what her antics were, until news broke that Rousey had shown interest in pursuing pro wrestling and had even starting learning basic training.

A WWE backstage employee told Fightful on Tuesday that Rousey had asked to appear at the Mae Young Classic and had been referred by WWE to train with Brian Kendrick in Southern California.

The Mae Young Classic is WWE’s all-female tournament featuring a 32-woman field and, according to Bleach Report, will introduce the next generation of female wrestling stars to the public.

Rousey would not be the first UFC fighter to pursue a career in pro wrestling.

Shayna Baszler recently made the jump from MMA to the Mae Young Classic and will participate in the forthcoming event later this month.

WWE announcer Jim Ross told TMZ Sports last week that Rousey had a bright future in wrestling.

"Oh, she's gonna be a big star," he said.

"It's inevitable. I see her in a WrestleMania someday."

He added that the transition would be a good career move for Rousey, stating that "it's too great an opportunity for her to pass up and WWE to pass up ... it's a match made in heaven."
