Ronda Rousey and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson dominated the WWE's WrestleMania event Sunday when the UFC champion and Hollywood actor rousted Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
Rousey was sitting on sidelines when The Rock got into it with McMahon, who slapped him across the face, drawing jeers and shouts from the crowd.
When The Rock stomped to stand in front of her, Rousey answered his unspoken entreaty. She leaped the barrier and walked into the ring to confront McMahon, the daughter of WWE chairman Vince McMahon.
“You’ve gotta understand something, Miss Steph. Any ring I walk into is mine,” Rousey said. “If you want me to leave, how ’bout you make me?”
“Ronda, I said get the hell outta my ring,” McMahon responded. “Now!”
The confrontation was over quickly, although not quite as quickly as Rousey’s 14-second takedown of Cat Zingano last month. It started with The Rock tossing Triple H around the ring, and then Rousey throwing him solidly out. McMahon soon followed.
“What that is called, that is called being owned,” The Rock shouted. “That is the biggest Wrestlemania moment of the night.”
Battling aside, many speculated about what Rousey’s appearance meant.
“Now fans are speculating about a possible WWE match involving Ronda Rousey. We'll just have to wait and see. It was definitely the
best moment of the show,” Business Insider wrote.
Some hope she’ll stay away from WWE, though.
Wrote one person on an article about the incident on Kokatu, “That's pretty dang cool right there. But honestly, I wish quality women like Rousey would stay away from WWE until they get their s*** together. We all know they treat women like crap. The Diva Division has been a joke since . . . always.”
