Roy Price has resigned from Amazon Studios following a sexual harassment allegation that saw the tech giant's president suspended on Oct. 12.

Amazon Studio's COO, Albert Cheng, has been named the interim president, with sources saying he could take on the role on a permanent basis, Variety reported.

Price has been with the company since 2004 and was instrumental in nurturing it into a flourishing feature-film and original-series studio.

However, rumors began to surface earlier this year that he would not stay in his position with the company for much longer, Variety noted.

This was fueled as allegations of sexual harassment involving Price came to the forefront, with executive producer of "The Man in the High Castle," Isa Hackett, claiming the then-Amazon head pressured her for sex and made inappropriate remarks of a sexual nature.

These allegations arose on Oct. 12, after reports of sexual harassment and assault against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein came pouring in, resulting in Price being placed on a forced leave of absence.

Hackett spoke out about the incident in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, explaining that her position with the company automatically put her in a place of power and it was her responsibility to be vocal about the incident.

"I want to call out [Price's] behavior and also hold myself to a certain standard," she said.

"It's difficult because of the fact that I have two shows and I love those shows and I value my experience at Amazon. But this incident has been looming and it's difficult to shake it. I didn't want the details to come out previously because I didn't want to distract or deflate the energies of all the people who are so invested in these shows, and all of that positivity. You don't want to bring this into it. It feels demoralizing."
