The royal baby due date for Prince William and Kate Middleton's second child has been revealed: Baby George will get a sibling sometime in April, Kensington Palace announced Monday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had already announced the pregnancy but had not made the due date
public until now, according to the BBC News. April coincides with Queen Elizabeth's birthday on April 21, as well as William and Kate's wedding anniversary, which is on April 29.
Kensington Palace said in a statement that Middleton was struggling with extreme morning sickness but "steadily improving."
The Daily Mail wrote that the Duchess went to her family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, last week with her son, Prince George, as she recovered. The acute morning sickness Middleton is suffering from, called hyperemesis gravidarum, could be a condition that may require supplementary hydration, medication, and nutrients.
Acute morning sickness affects about 3.5 per 1,000 pregnancies and can cause severe vomiting that can lead to dehydration, weight loss, and a build-up of toxins in the blood or urine, calling ketosis.
Symptoms generally drop off around the 14- to 16-week mark, so the Duchess may potentially have another four weeks of the sickness ahead of her.
The Daily Mail reported that Kate will make her first public appearance since the pregnancy announcement Tuesday when she and Prince William welcome Singapore's President Tony Tan to the United Kingdom.
She will also appear at the Wildlife Photographer of The Year 2014 Awards ceremony at the Natural History Museum.
The new addition to the royal family will be fourth in line to the throne, regardless of sex, according to the Daily Mail, behind grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William, and 1-year-old brother Prince George.
