It was the fans and their love for Daniel Bryan that upstaged a wild WWE title match between Randy Orton and John Cena during Sunday's Royal Rumble 2014 in Pittsburgh.
Bryan had lost in an earlier match to Bray Wyatt, continuing to deny fan favorite Bryan a route to the
WWE title, according to Newsday. By the time Orton and Cena took the ring, in a match ultimately won by Orton, fans loudly called for Bryan.

"All of a sudden it was a WWE World Heavyweight Title match that nobody wanted to see, as the crowd offered a 'boring' chant to Cena and Orton," Newsday reported. "WWE's tale of Bryan being denied a route to the crown had worked too well, as the marquee match was heading toward a legendary flameout. But Orton wouldn't give up, as he continually chided the crowd, fighting the ticket buyers as much as he fought Cena."
The conflict between the main participants and fans also sparked interest through social media.
"Yes, I'm going to put a brick through my TV. It's just going to have to wait until tomorrow,"
WWE Wrestler Mick Foley wrote on Facebook. "I had every intention of putting a brick through my TV tonight, after seeing that Daniel Bryan was not even entered in the Royal Rumble match, let alone going to win the thing. But, upon seeing their dad with a brick in his hand, my younger children got a little bit scared, thinking their dad had lost his mind."
The drama is sure to carry over to WWE's main event, Wrestlemania XXX, which will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6.
