Actor Ryan Gosling has reportedly been tapped to play Oscar Pistorius in a biopic about the Olympic "Blade Runner" who is accused of murdering his girlfriend model Reeva Steenkamp last month.
Los Angeles sources told the Daily Mail that
Gosling and Charlize Theron have been approached to play Pistorius and Steenkamp, even though the case is far from over and Gosling has spoken publicly about wanting a break from acting. Two scripts are reportedly being developed and have drawn studio interest.

"You've got one of the world's most famous sportsmen under arrest and a beautiful young woman who meets a violent death. Scripts began doing the rounds within days of the scandal breaking," an insider told the Daily Mail. "Ryan has the kind of quiet magnetism that would make this project work — plus there's some mystery about him. Although Ryan has been saying publicly that he wants to take a break from acting to relax, executives will be falling over themselves to woo him once the scripts are finalized."
Oscar Pistorius, a Paralympic gold medal winner, is accused of shooting Steenkamp at the couple's South African home on Valentine's Day. Pistorius claims he mistook his 30-year-old girlfriend for an intruder. He is currently out on bail.
Pistorius' amazing struggle against adversity warmed the hearts of the world during the 2012 London Olympics when he became the first double amputee to compete against able-bodied runners at the games. He reached the semifinals of the 400-meter race and took home a silver medal for South Africa. His carbon-fiber prosthetic blades earned him the nickname "Blade Runner."
Pistorius has a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday in which he will reportedly refute the terms of his bail, including the travel restrictions and the requirement that he report to a police station twice a week.
