Ryan Seacrest has split from Shayna Terese Taylor, his girlfriend of more than a year, the
"American Idol" host told Us Weekly at Z100's Jingle Ball on Friday.
"I am single," the radio star, who will turn 40 on Christmas Eve, confirmed to the magazine.
Seacrest had broken up with dancer and actress Julianne Hough in March 2013 when he started dating Taylor, a model and personal trainer, in November of that year.
"Ryan was looking to date again and [friends] thought he and Shayna would get along great," one source told Us Weekly.
Last week, Taylor posted a message on Instagram that could be interpreted as connected with the breakup, saying, "My only goal in life right now is to be happy. Genuinely, intensely, and consistently happy, regardless of what that looks like to others."
Seacrest and Hough dated for two years before their breakup.
In a July interview with Redbook, Hough said she took the blame for the relationship ending.
"Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right," she said. "I had one foot out because I didn't want to get hurt. And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect. But now I'm not holding anything back, because I'd rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love. If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?"
Seacrest signed on as host of "American Idol" in 2002 as his broadcasting gigs began to
cover multiple platforms, according to People magazine. He later went on to replace Casey Kasem as host of "American Top 40" on radio.
