Bruce Springsteen's youngest son, Sam, is choosing to put out fires, rather than fire up crowds on stage, as the rocker's youngster became a member of the Colts Neck Fire Department in New Jersey.
Mother and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa posted a picture of Sam Springsteen on Instagram last week after he graduated from the Monmouth County Fire Academy with the caption: "My youngest son, Sam, graduated from Monmouth County Fire Academy tonight. #Proud #OurFamilyHero."

Both of the young Springsteen's famous parents attended his graduation ceremony on Jan. 15,
the academy told the Asbury Park Press.
Springsteen's latest album, "High Hopes," recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 100, marking his 11th No. 1 album.
Fire officials relayed how rigorous the course is to the APP.
"This is not an easy course," Monmouth County Fire Marshal Henry Stryker III said. "There's a lot of physical stuff and a lot of book work. He’s very smart. He enjoyed what he was doing."
Sam Springsteen was one of 42 graduates from the department, who moved to be assigned at several fire stations in New Jersey,
according to Marlboro-Colts Neck Patch.
"You will answer the call and place your lives on the line to save someone else's life and property, because that is what you are trained to do. And you received the best training available from the instructors at this academy," Freeholder John P. Curley told Springsteen and other graduates last week.
Stryker told the graduates that being a firefighter is more than just a job.
"It takes a special type of person to be a firefighter," Stryker said. "They have to have a passion to do this job. The graduates sitting before us have that passion because they have completed the rigorous training as their first step. Please be safe."
Colts Neck Township is an upscale community of about 12,000 people. Marlboro-Colts Neck Patch reported that actress and singer Queen Latifah recently put her Colts Neck home on the market, a 7,000-square foot mansion. The home is being sold for $2.4 million.
