Sarah Silverman showed off her liquid pot vape pen on the red carpet at the 2014 Emmy Awards Monday night before going on to collect the writing award for her HBO special, "Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles."
The incident happened as the 43-year-old funnywoman walked the red carpet outside of Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre. Her interview with E! News host Giuliana Rancic started out with the usual chit chat but took an unexpected turn when Rancic asked Silverman what sort of items she had inside her purse.
"This is my pot. Liquid pot," Silverman told E! News as she pulled out a vaporizer pen. "This is what everything's really supposed to be in. Money, lipstick, a little mirror, my license — what if I need my license?"

So-called "liquid" pot is legal in California with a prescription, which Silverman said she left at home.
"I was carrying pot in my purse for later,"
she said backstage during the show, according to Deadline.com. "It's legal. I like to have a puff as a treat at appropriate times."
Silverman has never been shy about her affinity for marijuana but, nonetheless, her "big reveal" received a lot of buzz on social media.
The comedienne went on won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and her HBO program was also nominated for Outstanding Variety Special.
